    About Your Instructor

    Hello everyone. My name is Nicholas Palmisano, but I go by Nick.  I began my fire service career in 2010, serving as a Firefighter, Driver/Engineer, and now Captain with Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue.

    Throughout my career I have have always loved being an educator. I have been apart of the Paramedic programs for Broward College and Barry University. I am also an AHA instructor focusing on BLS & ACLS under the training site Emergency Management Training Consultants, LLC.

    I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and minor in Electronic Business Technology. I also carry two Associate level degrees, one for Liberal Arts and a second in Registered Nursing. Along with being a shift Captain and Fire Inspector for my department, I have also been serving as the Local District 5 Vice- President and Pension Boards Trustee since 2015.

    I have completed Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor III, Safety Officer, Fire Inspector I, Fire and Life Safety Educator,  and Pump Operator.

    My wife and I have been married since 2012 and are blessed with two beautiful boys.

    Hello my name is Ed Shadoin Im a Firefighter paramedic with the city of lighthouse point. I started with the fire department in 2014 and was promoted to Driver Engineer in 2024. At my department im also tasked with being a station mechanic, which entails maintenance and repair of just about anything I can handle with the tools and parts available. Off duty I live a very south Florida outdoors life style, fishing, diving, and airboating, Im taking this course to further my knowledge to prepare myself for a leadership roll as a step up captain. I hope we all learn a great deal and are able to apply our knowledge practically during our careers. Stay safe.
