    About Your Instructor

    Hello everyone. My name is Nicholas Palmisano, but I go by Nick.  I began my fire service career in 2010, serving as a Firefighter, Driver/Engineer, and now Captain with Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue.

    Throughout my career I have have always loved being an educator. I have been apart of the Paramedic programs for Broward College and Barry University. I am also an AHA instructor focusing on BLS & ACLS under the training site Emergency Management Training Consultants, LLC.

    I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and minor in Electronic Business Technology. I also carry two Associate level degrees, one for Liberal Arts and a second in Registered Nursing. Along with being a shift Captain and Fire Inspector for my department, I have also been serving as the Local District 5 Vice- President and Pension Boards Trustee since 2015.

    I have completed Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor III, Safety Officer, Fire Inspector I, Fire and Life Safety Educator,  and Pump Operator.

    My wife and I have been married since 2012 and are blessed with two beautiful boys.

    Hello everyone. My name is Ed Shadoin. I am a Driver Engineer with the city of lighthouse point fire department. I started in 2014 as a firefighter/paramedic and in October of 2024 was promoted to Driver Engineer. In my days off I enjoy anything outdoors and water related fishing, hunting, diving and airboating to name a few. I started out after high school being a welder/fabricator and soon after that learning machining. At my fire department I’m also one of the station mechanics who’s duty involves fixing and maintaining the fire apparatus and equipment. I enjoy helping others learn the ins and outs of our equipment. After completion of my first year as a Driver Engineer I will also be a step up Captain for my department. I look forward to the knowledge I will gain in this fire officer class and I hope everyone else does too.

    Hello everyone, my name is Kyle Fleming and I am currently a Rescue Supervisor for the City of Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue. I have worked for the department for 5 years and this is my second career. I graduated from Florida Atlantic in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Business Management & Marketing. After college, I worked for a local financial firm, helping to create marketing campaigns. While working, I realized that my heart and soul was to be on the move and to be outdoors working, so I decided to begin the fire academy. Quickly after finishing all 3 phases (EMT, Fire, Paramedic) I was hired by Lighthouse Point. Looking forward to continuing my education.
